What’s wrong with moving it to the side? Or draping it if the sight is that offensive? I’d like to see someone sashay into a chapel frequented by Practitioners of the Religion of Peace and remove the crescent. Heads literally would roll someplace in the world, we’d have nation-wide street riots, that walking mummy from the great state of West Virginia would totter around the Capitol building shaking his Constitution in the air condemning everything that ever was (except, of course, the Ku Klux Klan), and Al Gore would be cautioning Christians about doing things that cause the Practitioners of the Religion of Peace to set too many fires, thereby contributing to global warming. The only religion in the world that allows other religions to desecrate its places of worship and consign its symbols to the dumpster is Christianity. What ought to be offensive are people who claim to be Christians who stand back and cheer whenever something like this happens.
