I know this is not History, much less Virginia history, but given that we all preserve and share information, I suggest you NOT upgrade to Adobe Reader 9.0.

I did and found:

1 - It will not work properly with some files which ran fine in 8. An afternoon of lumbering around and talking with the Adobe support people who were well aware of it found that PDF files created in some other application, like WORDPERFECT, may not be 100% compatible, and the wise people who developed 9 did not address that.

2 - It does not interface to web sites which I have gone to which require an Adobe Reader -- even those that say they need 8 or 9. This is spotty, and may or may not work.
