The Virginia Penitentiary Records Collection is a storyteller’s bonanza, teeming
with outrageous characters. Library of Virginia archivist Roger Christman found
the story of Lizzie Dodson, a teenager who had no use for rules or prisons.
The collection will be available for research in 2011. Visit this week's Out of
the Box blog for a true-crime story from Virginia’s archive.
