I left VA-HIST about 8 months ago because of the repetitive, never-ending, dialogs about Thomas Jeffson, Sally Hemmings, and DNA.

But I missed the "old" Va-Hist -- particularly the wonderful friends I had made -- and rejoined about a month ago. And now what do I see? Same-old, same-old. I wholeheartedly support academic discussions and expanding what we all should know about our Virginia Heritage. But I see the same names appear message after message, and as near as I can determine, we are no further along than we were eight months ago. Sadly, the same old vitrol and personal attacks continue.

Given that this is of such interest to a few vocal-folks, and no doubt of interest to an additional number of lurkers, let me suggest that the LVA, or some party who is greatly interested in keeping this discussion alive, set up another web site and focus on TJ, SH and DNA. That will free up considerable time, disk space, and energy for the rest of us who prefer a wider range of Virginia History on our menu every morning. Those who wish to be members of both groups are welcome to join both.
