C. Herbert Finch Online Publication Award
given by the Mid Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC)

The C. Herbert Finch Online Publication Award was established to honor the
memory of C. Herbert Finch, former Assistant Director of Cornell University
Libraries, who died on April 27, 2005.

Mission and Goals

The Arline Custer Memorial Award Committee will award a prize honoring
online publications including virtual exhibitions, web sites and web pages
devoted to the promotion and use of archival materials created by an
individual, individuals, or institutions in the District of Columbia,
Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West
Virginia.

Operations

Members of the Arline Custer Memorial Award Committee will be responsible
for awarding the C. Herbert Finch Award and will use the same rules of
operations for all awards with the exceptions described below.

Call for Submissions

The Arline Custer Award Committee will accept submissions or nominations for
the C. Herbert Finch Award for online publications such as virtual
exhibitions, web sites or web pages devoted to the promotion and use of
archival materials. A web site publication that is primarily a finding aid
is not eligible for the Finch Award but may be nominated for the Finding Aid
Award.

To be eligible for the award, an online publication must have a stable
internet address and must have been issued between January 1, 2008 through
June 30, 2009. Awards will be presented at the Fall Conference in Jersey
City, NJ.

The committee encourages entries that use a variety of media. Submissions
are judged on content, navigability, usability, functionality, and site
design.

Submissions must be received by July 31, 2009.

Please send URLs for each submission with a letter of nomination to the
