The official TJ letter, which I just read today, states it was Adrian
Petit. I am familiar with Hugh Petit being an overseer.

It's a different Petit -- Hugh Petit, not Adrian. Check the notes in
Bett's edition of the Farm Book, and the Memorandum Book. Adrian the
Frenchman was not around.
