Aren't we getting rather vituperative again and digressing from the issue
at hand? I understood the request was to lobby for additional money for
the Library.

As far as tax cuts requiring a cut in services, this is not quite true.
Tax cuts require a more efficient use of funds available and competitive
bidding for supplies. Do you really believe that a tax cut that resulted
in not purchasing hammers for the military out of the federal budget, for
instance, for thousands of dollars rather than what you or I would pay in
a civilian store, is a cut in services?

Those not satisfied with the governing of the commonwealth or the nation
should be involved at the very beginning, in primary, mass meeting,
convention, or caucus voting, for nominees to be candidates for election
to office. Too many of our citizens complain about the status quo
without ever bothering to vote at the polls, much less at the local level
where nominees are selected to run.
