J South,

What do you celebrate on Columbus Day? A man who "discovered America"? Are
you aware that America had already been colonized by the Portuguese, and
probably the Chinese? So, not only are you celebrating a man who murdered
Natives, enslaved Natives, and tortured and mutilated Natives in order to
force them to give up their gold, he was also a fraud.

By comparison, the ideals of Kwanzaa are pretty good. Focus on the ideals,
not where they came from. Sometimes good comes from evil, as in the case of
Columbus.
