The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House Lecture series will take place at noon on Tuesday, 19
August, 2003, in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the
Library of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond.

A series of three radio plays, originally written as part of the
Virginia Writer's Project of the Works Progress Administration in the
late 1930's, will be performed by the Library of Virginia "Retro
Players," staff members Rick Golembeski, Will Henson, John Hopewell,
Kate Isaacs, Jennifer McDaid, Bob Nawrocki, Jacquie O'Connor, Joanne
Smith, Minor Weisiger and Barbara Batson, director. The plays are
"Ladies Aid," The Virginia Traveler," and "Pushing Fifty." The first two
were originally heard on the radio; "Pushing Fifty" has never been
performed. The Library holds the originals of the plays, which are being
presented in conjunction with the current Library exhibit, "Legacies of
the New Deal."

There is free underground parking for Library patrons. For more
information on this and other programs and services of the Library of
Virginia please visit the Library web site at http//:www.lva.lib.va.us
or call 804-692-3592.
