Contents of the October 2005 issue include:

 

*        Moor Green: a Prince William Landmark Reveals Its Origins, by
Darlene L. Hunter, CG.  The history of a plantation near Brentsville
that dates to a 1711 land grant.  Families associated with the property
include the names CHEVALLE, RENO, BRONAUGH, HOOE, REID, FOSTER,
THORNTON, FLETCHER, and COX. 

 

*        Petition to Have a Thanksgiving.  In 1850, seventy-nine Prince
William residents lobbied the Virginia General Assembly to authorize an
annual day of Thanksgiving each November. 

 

*    Death Records from Prince William County Estate Files, ca.
1913-1938, by Ronald R. Turner.  Part three, surnames Schrader - Zunada.


 

*        Cedar Run Relocation Burials.  A list of family and community
graveyards vacated on Quantico Marine Corps Base by 1945, and of the
bodies moved to the consolidated white cemetery at Cedar Run.

 

*    Dumfries District Court Land Causes, 1793-1811 (continued), by
William M. Balderson Jr.  LITHGOW vs. CARR's trustees (concl.).
Nathaniel CHAPMAN's Administrator vs. Robert GRAHAM, a lawsuit growing
out of a 1757 land transaction.
