Anita: One of my aunts is Irish. She was born in Ireland and had been married to an uncle of mine for many years. She told me about this when I was growing up in the 1970s so it is very true. Jane.

>I agree. A discussion on how blacks view each other, should be broadened. Many of the color distinctions within the African American community, were introduced during slavery. There was class distinctions between whites in Colonial times as well. Many of those who settled here were not royals, but prisoners, populations who were landless, and ne'er do wells. I did not know that it was a secret that the Irish and Scotch-Irish were on the lower end of the British Social Scales. I am only stating what is well documented in history books.
