I'd like to announce that the Longwood University Department of
History and Political Science and the Appomattox Court House National
Historical Park will sponsor our Fourth Annual FREE Civil War Seminar,
entitled "The Civil War at Sea" on Saturday, March 29. It will be held in
132 Hull Building on the campus of Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.

The program will begin at 9:20 and last until 3:30, with a break
for lunch. Participants and topics include Dr. Robert Browning, Jr., on
"Combined Operations Against Charleston"; Mr. John Quarstein on
"Rediscovering the Monitor" and "The CSS Virginia"; Dr. Spencer Tucker on
"Admiral Andrew Foote and the War on Western Waters"; and Dr. Robert
Zaworski on Diving on the Monitor."

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We
would love to have members of the Virginia History List Serve attend.

Thank you,

David Coles
