Please don't confuse the digitized with the original.  The original records 
of the Works Progress Administration are at the National Archives (Record Group 
69).  Yes a number of these have been digitized and available through the 
Internet, but not all of the information found on Library of Congress' website is 
in original at the Library of Congress.  It is simply the "host site" for 
databases of information all over the country (the world?).  Just because the 
digitized versions are accessed through an LC hosted site doesn't mean that LC is 
the location of the originals.  

Additionally, many of these have been published and/or sample-collected by 
many individuals and organizations doing research.  It can be easy to confuse 
someone's collection of notes, especially if extensive, with the originals.
