Va-Hist Subscribers:

As you will all recall from the welcome message that you received back
when you joined Va-Hist, there is no formal "sheriff" on this electronic
discussion group. Our computer automatically forwards messages directly
to all recipients. It is a courtesy to everybody to include in replies
to a message no more of a previous message than is necessary to avoid
confusion. Extra-long e-mails are not a convenient thing for people who
receive their e-mail through slow internet connections at home.
