We have recently been given a medicine chest descended in the Henry family containing bottles bearing the label of Purcell, Ladd & Company of Richmond - presumably late 18th century. Haven't yet done our homework in newspapers and it could be slightly too early for Richmond city directories - hence this query in case anyone has already stumbled upon these folks and might know when they were in business, etc.
Printed paper labels are for laudanum, ipecac, peppermint, spirits of camphor, and such - 8 larger and 6 smaller bottles. Many thanks.
