re History of Waynesboro.  I suggest you try the Waynesboro Heritage Museum,
PO Box 517, Waynesboro, Virginia.

I have two items that may be of interest.

#1 - Color map of the Battle of Waynesboro.  Jubal Early's last battle in
the Valley.  8.5 x 11 adapted from the official battle map.  I edited this a
few years ago for part of the Cabell family history in the Civil War.  The
right flank of the Confederate line was on the Gallaher House which my
Grandfather acquired when he married the, daughter of Capt. Hugh Holmes
McGuire, CSA and Sally Gallaher

#2 - Diary of DeWith Clinton Gallaher (Sally's brother) of his years in the
Confederate Army.  Its just a little 8.5 x 5.5 booklet -- probably 30 pages,
but chronicles his participation on the staff mainly in the
Waynesboro-Staunton area.  Has lotsa stories including the capture of Dr.
HunterHolmes McGuire by a union Officer, wedding of Sally and Hugh, etc.

I'll contribute copies to the Library if you are interested.
