I omitted to mention in my earlier note that I have been able to conduct my
new research/writing about the Hairston families of Virginia thanks to a
Fellowship (non-financial) from Virginia Humanities. The VH sponsorship has
been crucial to carrying my work forward, and I'm grateful for Matthew
Gibson's continuing support and encouragement.
