This was a petition "of the inhabitants of that part of Orange County 
called Augusta" and reported by the report of the Committee of 
Propositions and Grievances to the House on 10 June 1742. At that time 
Augusta did not have a functioning government. The report was laid upon 
the table.

I suspect that it was never acted upon; however, it may have been. A 
further search of the Journals and of Hening's _Statutes at Large_ might 
uncover further information.
