At the risk of seeming to toot our own horns here at the Library of
Virginia, I cannot refrain from pointing out that carefully researched
biographies of the third William Byrd (1728-1777) and of his second
wife, Mary Willing Byrd (1740-1814), have been included in volume 2 of
the Dictionary of Virginia Biography that we published in 2001.

Besides: "He who tooteth not his own horn, the same shall not be
tooted." --John L. Lewis, United Mine Workers.
