Dear Anita,
He was a Corporal in Company D, 18th Battalion, Virginia Heavy Artillery,
Confederate States Army. He was captured April 6, 1865, at Burke's Farm,
Virginia and released July 1, 1865 at Newport News, Virginia.

Thanks again.
John Cullom

Dear John:

What unit was he in? Infantry, cavalry or artillery? CSA Jamestown Naval
Flotilla? Do you have any oral history/timeline as to what day he was
captured? That may be easier to trace than trying to track him down by name.
It
probably was somewhere between Richmond/Petersburg and Appomattox. judging
from
the dates, but that encompasses at least a half dozen counties and numerous
towns!
