That's interesting.  Growing up in Hen-rec-oh for many years (and having family from New
Kent), I
always pronounced it Hen-rI-co.  I always associated the older pronunciation with Southside
Virginia.
It always makes me think of Henry Howell.  I always loved hearing him on tv and radio.
