The Library of Virginia will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday from
Saturday, 29 May, through Monday, 31 May 2010. The Library of Virginia
will also be closed on Friday, 28 May, which is a furlough day for staff
of the Library of Virginia and most salaried employees in Executive
Branch agencies of the Commonwealth of Virginia. A statewide furlough
day (or eight hours of unpaid leave) was included in the budget approved
by the General Assembly as one of several methods of balancing the
budget.
