Ian,

Perhaps now you understand why the heat in the discussion of the paternity 
of Sally Hemings children. It is to preserve "the honor" of a man who 
destroyed his own "honor" with how he chose to live his life. And we are to 
continue to "honor" him in death by heaping "dishonor" on those whose family 
knowledge says he was their father?

Neil protests the lack of "civility" in the NY Times article, but not 
because the spoke of the dishonorable cartoons which attempt to shame the 
people's choice for current president. He's apparently OK with all the 
monkey jokes. But not with comparing one evil to another.
