Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the Council of Virginia Archaeologists' Public
Outreach Committee. We would like to advertise an upcoming symposium
sponsored by COVA's Public Education Committee on the archaeology of
Richmond. The symposium will include three presentations by local
archaeologists on recent investigations in Richmond.

Presenters will provide an overview of the city’s significant
archaeological discoveries, discuss the investigations that took place at
the Lumpkin’s Slave Jail Site, and outline archaeological resources that
could be present within the vicinity of recent development proposals
related to Shockoe Bottom.

This FREE public event is part of the Annual Meeting of the Archeological
Society of Virginia and will take place on Friday, October 10th from 7:30
to 9:30pm at the DoubleTree Hilton located at 1021 Koger Center Boulevard,
Richmond.

Thank you,

Lauren
