The National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom (National Park
Service) is sponsoring a free program, open to the public, at Sumner
School, 17th & M Sts., Washington, D.C., on January 24, from 9:00 am to
1:00 pm.  The goal of the program, called, "Unsung Heroes of the
Underground Railroad in the DC Area," is to bring to light some lesser
known local heroes involved in flight from slavery to freedom in the DC
area through the end of the Civil War.
