Kevin Hardwick writes: "We know that at least one of the Hemings children
was not Jefferson's."  Kevin -- are you referring to Tom Woodson?  The
thinking now is that Sally Hemings never had a son Tom, that "Tom" was a
mistake on Callender's part, and that the Woodson family oral history is
wrong: there is no actual link between their Tom and Monticello.
