Could you please post the following announcement soon after the New Year:

The National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom (National Park
Service) is sponsoring a free program, open to the public, at Sumner
School, Washington, D.C., on January 24, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The goal
of the program, called, "Unsung Heroes of the Underground Railroad in the
DC Area," is to bring to light some lesser known local heroes involved in
flight from slavery to freedom in the DC area through the end of the Civil
War. Even if you cannot attend, please share names and details about
little known people associated with the Underground Railroad. A list of
such people will be circulated at the event in hopes of gathering more
information.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to: Jenny Masur, National Capital
Region, National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom, National Park
Service, at 202-619-7136 or [log in to unmask]
