A correction to my corrections. Mick Nicholls reminds me that the
Constitution did not _require_ the international slave trade to end in 1808;
rather, it forbade federal interference with the trade until 1808. Jefferson
recommended to Congress that it act on its Constitutional authorization to
end the trade. I apologize for the error.
