Ralph,
One of the sources below may contain a list of the knights' names,
though off hand I don't recall seeing a complete list. In August
1716, Lieutenant Governor Alexander Spotswood led his “Knights of the
Golden Horseshoe” expedition across the Blue Ridge Mountains at the
Chester Gap, which later became the town of Front Royal. Spotswood
and his companions swam in the Shenandoah River, which he called “The
Euphrates.” Robert Beverley (the historian) went along. His King and
Queen County estate was their jumping off point. The Essex and King
and Queen county surveyors (or assistant surveyors), Augustine Smith
and John Taylor, accompanied Spotswood as well. The Huguenot John
Fontaine went along as well and wrote the best account of the
journey. Spotswood's account to the Board of Trade is more business-
like and focused on his settlement scheme.

See:

"Alexander Spotswood to Board of Trade, May 9, 1716,” Virginia
Colonial Records Project, British Public Records Office, Colonial
Office [CO] 5/1317, f. 188.

"Virginia Indian Company to Board of Trade, April 24, 1717,” Virginia
Colonial Records Project, British Public Records Office, C.O. 5/1317,
f. 42.

Horseshoe." _The William and Mary Quarterly_, 2nd Ser., Vol. 20, No.
4 (Oct., 1940), pp. 508-510.

York: Putnam, 1907).

Hope this helps.
Best,
Ed Ragan
