Sally - Governor Kaine's office released a press release yesterday
announcing that "Virginia Will Lead the Way in Digitizing African-American
Historical Information."  We are the first state in the nation to
participate in this project that will include digitizing the Freedmen's
Bureau records.  For more information you can go to the Governor's website

Good morning!

A photo caption in The Washington Post this morning mentioned that Virginia
was going to computerize records of black people for the years after the
Civil War.  That was it, no more information!  Does anyone know anything
about this, or where I can find out more about this?  Thanks!
