I recently discovered that my ggg/grandmother FRANCES
BROWN (d. 1807 in Greensville County) had a brother
named BURWELL BROWN, from which I suspect I have a
BURWELL ancestor. Does anyone know of one or more good
genealogies of the BURWELL family? My BROWN family is
covered -- at least in part -- in one of Boddie's
little books.

F.Y.I. FRANCES BROWN m. MATTHEW PETERSON MAYES
(1794-1878) who moved to Sumter County, South Carolina
ca. 1819, where he founded the (then) major cotton
depot town of Mayesville.
