Does anyone know of any scholarly work, book or dissertation, that has looked at
the life/actions/significance of James Patton, who essentially held every
available office in Augusta County until his death at Drapers Meadow in July
1755. I've read Patricia Givens Johnson's book but find it lacks a great deal of
context of the time and where events he participated in fit into the larger
scheme of politics and expansion in Virginia before the French and Indian War.
