The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House lecture series will take place at noon on Thursday, 15
August, 2002, in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the Library
of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond.

The speaker will be Patricia Ferguson Watkinson, Ph.D, Research Archivist
at the Library of Virginia. The title of her talk is, "Hot Properties: The
Mutual Assurance Society Records at the Library of Virginia." The Library
holds an extensive collection of records of this Richmond-based company,
which began insuring Virginia properties in 1796 and is still in operation
today.

There is free underground parking for Library patrons. For more information
on this and other programs and services of the Library of Virginia please
visit the Library's web site at http://www.lva.lib.va.us or call
