  For an article for the Colonial Williamsburg Journal, I seek
information on J. Stewart Barney, the architect who oversaw the 1905-07
restoration of Bruton Parish Church. W.A.R. Goodwin gives Barney credit
for advancing the idea of restoring the whole town as opposed to several
buildings.  Barney died in 1925 and was not part of the Rockefeller
Restoration. Barney had Virginia roots. Does anyone know of Barney's
specific Virginia roots; he apparently came from a colonial family.
Also: was Barney was related in any way to Edward Barney, the owner of
Jamestown Island who donated 22 acres to the APVA. Any leads for
specific information would be greatly appreciated. Will Molineux,
