That slogan may be clever, but Virginia is not for much of anything  
else anymore.  In typical paradoxical fashion, the state with  
arguably the most restaurants and bars per capita in the nation has  
the strictest DUI laws of any state, and is now poised to ban smoking  
in all of them.  And this includes a ban on alcohol and tobacco on  
ALL public beaches.  Well what the heck is the fun of going to the  
beach then?  I guess next they will ban all bars, period.  Need to  
stop those drunk drivers.  Never mind that alcohol and tobacco are  
legal products.  Want to buy Virginia wine?  Fine, just don't go to  
the tasting room.  Tobacco farmers?  A dying breed, obviously.

A state founded on the tobacco crop and headquarters of R. J.  
Reynolds.  I never thought I'd see the day.  Life is no fun anymore.  
Sic Temper Tyrannis?  Forget that one.  Give Me Liberty Or Give Me  
Death?  Nope.

Virginia needs a new slogan, something like "Don't even think about  
doing anything here" or "Virginia is for Wet Towel Beach Blanket Bingo."
