I will have to finish reading what you posted. It is most interesting. But, 
I wanted to share a point that I read in it. The African-Americans referred 
to it as The Freedom Fort. That name should take a prominent place in the 
intended park. Perhaps it could be called Freedom Park, or some part of it 
called that. If you go with my earlier idea to recreate slave cabins as 
"motel rooms", they the resulting motel could be called "Freedom Inn".

I'd be curious tho. I assume that the slaves had to remain at the fort in 
order to preserve their freedom. Where did they stay? In the barracks? Was 
shelter erected for them?
