Jourdan's Journey and Beggar's Bush were both plantations owned by Samuel
Jordan (d. 1623). Joyrdan's Journey was on the south side of the James and
Samuel and his wife Cicely survived the massacre while living at that site.
They apparently then removed to Beggar's Bush located in present day Prince
George County. I cannot cite the source from memory, but apparently "Beggar's
Bush" refers to an actual place where beggars congregated around a bush on a
road outside London.
