Va-Hist List,

In recent months, I have mapped many surveys of patents or grants to
Cabells and others in present-day Buckingham, Nelson, & Amherst
Counties. To view the maps, go to...

ftp://owl.cc.rochester.edu/anonymous/ttb/

...then click successively on 'patent maps' and 'cabell lands'.

There you will find...

1)  A text file CabelMap.TXT with explanation
2)  Two data files Cab_L.DB and Amh_Nels.DB listing all surveys read
3)  A folder Cab_Map_v3 containing some 17 maps (gif files)
