The 1805 map would be that made by Bishop James Madison, president of William and Mary. He was a cousin of the more famous James Madison. William and Mary's Swem Library Special Collections may have a copy of it or know where one might be found.

Subject: Madison's map (of Richmond?) 1805

Hello,

I am researching a demolished structure that once sat on Council Chamber Hill on Shockoe
Hill in Richmond VA. The property is referenced in a 1903 Times Dispatch article, as being
depicted on this "Madison's map of 1805."

I would like to know if anyone has heard of/seen this map and know where it is
housed/available to view?

Much appreciation,
Jessica Bankston
