A good way to get rid of chiggers/red bugs when yu do get them is to lather
well with Octogon soap suds, leave for five minutes, then rinse off.

If you have a really bad case of red bugs/chiggers, pour a couple of
cups of bleach in warm bath water and lie in it for about 20-30 minutes.
