In the process of a trial there is a concept called "making a
record." The fact is if you have a problem with anything that occurs and
you want to have review of the matter, you must make sure at the time it
occurs that the transcript and record clearly reflect what occurred.
If you do not, then as far as any higher court is concerned, nothing
happened that they will review.
In a sense reconstructing history depends very much on what is
recorded, and historians are very inventive in finding material upon
which to find a record upon which to be able to say what happened.
My question is, since the history of the future is happening now,
what is consciously being done in Virginia now as a form of making a
record for historians of the future?
