I don't ignore reasonable arguments.  Rather, I like to investigate  the 
"everybody knows" style of history to ascertain whether everybody is correct  
based on all available evidence, including evidence to the contrary.  
 
Remember, everybody knew that the sun rotated around the earth in the 16th  
century, except for a guy named Galileo.
