If you love historic houses, this tour is for you. On June 28 the
Valentine Museum/Richmond History Center invites you to Jefferson's Poplar
Forest in Bedford. Experts will discuss recent discoveries. Lunch will be
at Peaks of Otter Lodge, followed by a tour of historic Avenel in Bedford.
Avenel is a newly opened house museum, and a work in progress. It has
Jefferson and Wickham House (Valentine Museum) connections. Cost is $40
for bus and lunch. Call Stephanie Martin at the Valentine/Richmond Center
at (804) 649-0711, ext.310 or e-mail to this address for more information.
