The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House lecture series will take place at noon on Tuesday, June 18,
2002, in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the the Library of
Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond.

The speaker will be Brent Tarter, Assistant Director of Publications at the
Library of Virginia. The title of his talk is, "Carry Me Back As Far As
Possible: The Virginia Constitution of 1901-1902." This constitution, which
effectively disenfranchised many African-Americans in Virginia, was adopted
one hundred years ago this month.

There is free underground parking for Library patrons. For more information
on this and other programs and services of the Library of Virginia please
visit the Library's web site at www.lva.lib.va.us
