ELECTRONIC RECORDS ARCHIVAL COORDNATOR
Library Specialist III
Position #00062
Salary Range: $35,000 - $48,000



The Library of Virginia is seeking an Electronic Records Archival Coordinator to analyze, describe, and maintain government records and private papers in electronic format.  The incumbent will also work with traditional manuscript materials. The archivist will arrange and store such materials in accordance with professional conservation guidelines and by utilizing prior experience with alternative media. The archivist will also recommend and implement procedures to ensure preservation of such media and the appropriate public accessibility to Virginia records and materials.  

A Master's degree from an accredited institution in U.S. history, information science, library science, or a related field and formal training in archive administration is preferred. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of national archival standards and practices; knowledge of information systems and emerging digital records technology.  Experience in the creation and management of electronic records, archival automation, and online cataloguing using the MARC format; a knowledge of Virginia or U.S. history; demonstrated research skills; an ability to analyze, arrange and describe collections accurately, to communicate effectively, and to function as a team member in a flexible work routine.  Background check required.
