Many thanks to each of you who responded with information and resources about early Virginia stagecoach routes. My interest is one of those things that began with mild general curiosity, then turned into a driving desire for specifics and details. I'd hit a blank when I tried to find detailed sources, but thanks to you I'm "on the road again."

I never cease to be amazed at the wealth of knowledge, experience, and research assistance provided by people on this List, no matter how arcane the topic. As a struggling amateur in Virginia history, I--and I imagine many others--would have gotten lost and discouraged long ago without the scholarship and generous assistance of this List.
