Elizabeth R. Varon, professor of history at Temple University, will discuss and 
sign her new book, _Disunion!: The Coming of the American Civil War, 1789–
1859_. In this bracing reinterpretation of the origins of the Civil War, Varon 
examines the ongoing debates over disunion, debates that began long before 
the secession crisis.
