OK, Neil, you are right that I went a little overboard making fun of a 
poster who was just making a joke.  I will have to get my sense of humor 
retooled.

But I must say that I have known Brent Tarter for over fifteen years and 
never have experienced him being partisan over ordinary politics.  What 
Brent has always been fierce about is the integrity of the Library of 
Virginia and its staff.  That is what his post clearly reveals.  So let's 
cut Brent some slack.

If a person is going to be loyal something smaller than the nation or 
greater than his/her own family, one could choose much worse objects for 
such loyalty than the wonderful LV.
