Dear Fellow Historians,
I am currently researching the Virginia Slave Insurrection of 1730 and I was
wondering if anyone had discovered the names of the slaves executed or their
owners in Norfolk or Princess Anne County in the fall of that year?

Letters written by Governor William Gooch, James Blair, and a brief discussion
by John Brickell in The Natural History of North Carolina (1737), and a few
newspaper accounts, are the only records of which I know. Surprisingly, the
Order books of both Norfolk and Princess Anne counties do not discuss the
trials and do not include record of a Court of Oyer and Terminer.

I am at a loss as to how to proceed...

Appreciate any help,
Justin
