The Virginia Genealogical Society celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
(See www.vgs.org) Our confereence and celebration will be in April, so
check out our web page for additional information.

Over the years the VGS has continued the initial series of published
abstracts to Virginia's land patents and grants, initially begun by Ms.
Nugent, beginning with 1623.

The publications are filled with data about headrights, family
relationships, Jamestown's first settlers, pre-patentee settlers, French and
Indian War soldiers, and early women.

The Society has published abstracts to 1776 and beyond, and now offers a
7-volume set for sale at a special price, postpaid. For VGS members, the
7-volume set (1623-1776) is offered for $150 post paid. For non-members,
$200 postpaid. For additional membership about VGS membership, see the
website inserted above.

Don't wait any longer to have this landmark publication series. It is a
must for any researcher in early Virginia history, and is the definitive
source for land patent and grant records.
